Since 1927, gifts to The Penn Fund—from undergraduate alumni and parents like you—have made a profound and immediate impact on all aspects of student life and learning at the University by providing grant-based financial aid packages to undergraduates, supporting enhancements to academic programs and campus technology, and fostering community through student clubs and organizations. This longstanding tradition of loyal generosity allows donors to support the University’s greatest needs and highest priorities through the general fund, long-term scholarship support, and special reunion class projects.

Penn It Forward

Penn It Forward celebrates the generosity of undergraduate alumni donors and showcases the direct impact of their gifts on the overall student experience. Check out our events below!

We recognize that many of us are dealing with a lot of emotions given all that is happening around the world and here on our own campus. In the hope of providing space to process everything, we wanted to let you know that parts of Penn It Forward will be rescheduled this year—though we would still like to honor these important undergraduate traditions at some point, as well. We will transition instead to a year-long event series and hope you will join us for as many as you can to learn more about the important role philanthropy plays up and down Locust Walk.

  • Community service with the Netter Center on Wednesday, October 25 at the Andrew Hamilton School (5640 Spruce Street) is moving forward this week. This volunteer clean-up event is limited to 20 participants and the Netter Center is providing two-trip SEPTA passes to all who attend. To sign up, click here.

  • Seniors for The Penn Fund Fall Fest will now be held on Thursday, November 2 in Hall of Flags and still hosted in partnership with Class Board 2024. We will celebrate the senior class, get a sneak peek of the exciting events still to come this year, and learn how to make a meaningful and lasting impact on our Quaker community. Come with all your friends to play trivia and enjoy food, beverages, and swag as part of this Red and Blue tradition. To RSVP, click here.

In addition to these two upcoming Penn It Forward events, be on the lookout for future communications about the following:

  • Thank Penn Alumni Day on Locust Walk in the spring—join us to write ‘thank you’ notes to undergraduate alumni donors who support current and future Quakers.

  • Penn It Forward Donor Panel—join us for a panel to celebrate the generosity of undergraduate alumni donors and showcase the direct impact of their gifts on the overall student experience.

  • Philanthropy Ambassador Pop-Up Events—join Philanthropy Ambassadors for tabling events this semester and next to learn more about how you can stay engaged across our global Penn community by coming back and giving back to the University throughout the future.

We hope you will join us for Penn It Forward events happening soon—and throughout the year ahead!
